LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident early Saturday morning in the Russell neighborhood.
According to Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) spokesperson Aaron Ellis, the crash occurred just after 4 a.m. at the intersection of 20th Street and Broadway. Investigators have determined that the woman was attempting to cross Broadway outside of a designated crosswalk when she was hit by a passenger vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and authorities confirmed that the driver of the car did not stop to assist or check on the woman. At this time, police have not been able to determine which direction the vehicle was traveling when the collision occurred, nor which direction it fled after the crash.

The investigation is ongoing, with LMPD’s Traffic Unit leading the efforts to gather more details and identify the responsible driver.
