The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 5300 block of Buckner Avenue, near Southern Parkway.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, a teenage girl, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. LMPD Sergeant Matt Sanders confirmed that police were able to locate and detain the suspect, 18-year-old Kaden Seviour, near the Iroquois Manor Shopping Complex shortly after the attack. Seviour is believed to have been in a relationship with the victim.
