Second Suspect Arrested in Violent Attack Outside Louisville Restaurant

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a brutal attack outside a Louisville restaurant that left three people hospitalized. The incident took place on March 8 outside Malone’s at the Paddock Shops, located on Brownsboro Road in East Louisville.

Malakhi Scott Weathers-Parker, 19, of Crestwood, was apprehended after a search by the Louisville Metro Police Department. He faces charges of first-degree strangulation, fourth-degree assault, and unlawful transaction with a minor. This arrest comes after 19-year-old Seth Jones of Prospect was taken into custody earlier for his alleged role in the violent altercation.

According to court documents, the altercation began when a group of individuals, who were planning to dine at Malone’s, made a comment to another group taking a photo outside the restaurant. The phrase “say cheese” reportedly caused offense to the group that included Weathers-Parker and Jones.

After briefly leaving the area, police said the two men returned to the parking lot with a juvenile, appearing to search for the other diners involved in the earlier incident. Surveillance footage and witness statements suggest that they went through multiple restaurants in search of their targets.

The situation quickly escalated when the victims came out to their vehicle and were confronted by the suspects. A physical altercation broke out, during which one victim was reportedly struck with their own metal baton. Another victim was allegedly put in a chokehold until losing consciousness.

One of the victims sustained serious injuries, including a concussion, skull fractures, and a small brain bleed. The other two victims suffered bruising and contusions to various parts of their bodies.

After the attack, the suspects fled the scene, but their actions were captured on surveillance cameras and witnessed by others. The police investigation led to the identification and subsequent arrest of Weathers-Parker.

Weathers-Parker is set to be arraigned on March 25. He faces several charges, including strangulation, assault, and unlawful transaction with a minor. Jones, who is being held on a $20,000 bond, faces similar charges. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 27.

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to piece together the details surrounding the violent confrontation.
