Louisville, KY – Authorities are searching for a second suspect involved in a violent altercation outside a popular Louisville restaurant that sent three individuals to the hospital.
The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) issued a statement Wednesday asking for assistance in locating 19-year-old Malakhi Scott Weathers-Parker, who is wanted in connection with the attack that occurred on March 8 outside Malone’s, located in the Paddock Shops area.
According to court documents, the incident began when a group of diners, including the victims, yelled “say cheese” to a separate group of individuals who were taking a photograph outside the restaurant. The group, which included Weathers-Parker and 19-year-old Seth Jones, felt disrespected by the remark. In response, the two men, along with a juvenile, reportedly returned to the parking lot in search of the other diners.
The confrontation escalated when the victims exited the restaurant and were confronted by Weathers-Parker, Jones, and the juvenile. Police say a violent altercation ensued, during which one of the victims was struck with their own metal baton.
The attack resulted in serious injuries to the victims. One sustained a concussion and a small brain bleed after being knocked unconscious. Another victim suffered a skull fracture and a brain bleed. The suspects fled the scene after the assault, but the incident was captured on surveillance footage, which is currently being reviewed by authorities.
Jones, who was involved in the attack, has already been arrested and charged. However, Weathers-Parker remains at large, and police are urging the public to come forward with any information about his whereabouts.
Anyone with information on Weathers-Parker’s location is encouraged to contact the LMPD’s anonymous Crime Tip Line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or submit a tip online through the department’s Crime Tip Portal.
As the investigation continues, LMPD is reminding residents of the importance of remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity to help ensure the safety of the community.
