Man Injured in Shooting in Louisville’s Russell Neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A man was injured in a shooting Monday night in the Russell neighborhood, authorities said. The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. in the 600 block of South 28th Street.

According to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis, officers arrived to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The man was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he is expected to survive his injuries, as confirmed by police.

The LMPD’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. At this time, there are no known suspects, and authorities are continuing to gather information.
