Man Fatally Shot in Louisville’s Portland Neighborhood; Police Seeking Information

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead following a late-night shooting in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood, according to police.

Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Pflanz Avenue around 10:41 p.m. on Friday after receiving reports of gunfire, said department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene but pronounced the man dead shortly after.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. As of Saturday, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the shooting—or any other criminal activity—to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling the LMPD Crime Tip Line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or through the department’s online Crime Tip Portal.

Police have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
