LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A 29-year-old man has been charged in connection with a tragic triple homicide that took place earlier this month in the Portland neighborhood of Louisville. Kody Warf faces three counts of murder for the shooting that occurred on April 8, according to a statement from Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.
The deadly shooting occurred shortly before 5 a.m. in the 2200 block of Griffiths Avenue, where officers arrived to find three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, all three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later identified the victims as Mallory Cox, 37, David Clark Jr., 49, and Robert Auter, 37.
Warf, who had been in custody since April 12 on unrelated charges, was officially charged in connection with the triple homicide the following week. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting, but Mitchell stated that Warf’s arrest represents a significant step in the ongoing investigation.
“This arrest marks a critical moment in our pursuit of justice for the victims and their families,” Mitchell said in a statement.
The case has left the local community on edge, as residents seek answers to the senseless violence that rocked their neighborhood. As investigators continue to piece together the details of the incident, Warf’s charges offer some semblance of closure for the families of those lost.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
