Louisville Man Arrested After Allegedly Attacking Food Delivery Driver

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man is facing robbery charges after allegedly assaulting a food delivery driver during a routine drop-off in February, according to police and court documents.

Ricky Cardine II, 31, was arrested and arraigned Tuesday in connection with the February 10 incident at his residence. Authorities say Cardine struck a DoorDash driver on the right side of the head with a handgun as the driver was completing a food delivery.

After the alleged assault, Cardine reportedly took the driver’s cellphone and refused to return it. The victim, who sustained injuries requiring stitches, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Louisville Metro Police said the victim later positively identified Cardine as the attacker, leading to his arrest. He has since been charged with robbery.

The case remains under investigation.
