Lexington Blue Roofing Shut Down Amid Fraud Allegations and Consumer Complaints

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Fayette Circuit Court has ordered Lexington Blue Roofing to cease all operations following a wave of customer complaints and a class-action lawsuit accusing the company of accepting payments for roofing work that was never completed.

The temporary restraining order, filed by Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman, freezes both corporate and personal assets of Lexington Blue Roofing and prohibits the company from transferring or liquidating any funds while investigations continue.

According to the Attorney General’s office, Lexington Blue Roofing collected nearly $5 million in payments during 2024 alone, for more than 300 projects, most of which were reportedly left unfinished. Over 70 customers across Kentucky have filed complaints with the Office of Consumer Protection, citing substantial deposits made for roof construction work that never took place.

The legal action comes after the company closed its Louisville office and cited “persistent financial strain” as a reason for its operational difficulties. In late April, a class-action lawsuit was filed on behalf of more than 100 individuals who allege they paid Lexington Blue Roofing for services that were never rendered.

“We are constantly on guard against predatory organizations that try to take advantage of Kentuckians, and we will hold these bad actors accountable,” Coleman said in a Monday news release. “We’re sending a strong message to scammers that they will face serious consequences when they operate within our commonwealth.”

The Attorney General’s office continues its investigation into the company’s financial practices and business operations, urging any affected customers to come forward.
