Doctors urge not to make appointments for COVID test

LOUISVILLE, KY- Norton Immediate Care Centers are asking their patients to use the drive-thru testing locations rather than making an appointment with their primary care physician.

Dr. Mary Rademaker, medical director of NICC, said that the number of people trying to get a test through their primary care physician is filling up the appointments, thus stopping the patients in need of other medical issues.

“Quite a bit of people are just seeking a test,” Dr. Rademaker said.

She urges anyone who is in need of a test, particularly those whose employers don’t accept at-home tests, to find their nearest drive-thru testing location.

You could find a list of drive-thru locations in the Louisville COVID-19 hub.
