Crash Involving Semi-Truck Shuts Down Part of Bardstown Road in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A section of Bardstown Road was shut down Monday morning following a crash involving a semi-truck and a car.

The collision occurred around 7 a.m. near Lancashire Avenue, close to the I-264 ramp. According to authorities, the car became lodged underneath the semi-truck, prompting a significant response from emergency personnel.

The driver of the car was promptly transported to UofL Hospital with injuries. However, Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officials indicated that the driver’s injuries are not life-threatening, and they are expected to survive.

As of 8 a.m., one lane of Bardstown Road remains closed while crews work to clear the scene. It is unclear when the road will fully reopen. Drivers in the area are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the stretch of road if possible.

No additional details, including the identities of those involved or the cause of the crash, have been released as of yet. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
