LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A death investigation is currently underway after a woman involved in a crash near Tyler Park died at the hospital on Wednesday evening, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).
At approximately 7:20 p.m., officers responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of Tyler Park Drive and Baxter Avenue, located in the Tyler Park neighborhood of Louisville. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a Jeep and a pickup truck that had collided. The woman, who was driving the Jeep, was transported to University of Louisville Hospital for medical treatment.
However, investigators later determined that the woman had suffered an “unknown penetrating wound” that was not related to the crash. She was subsequently pronounced dead at the hospital. No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash.
The LMPD Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. Authorities are urging anyone with information or potential evidence, such as dashcam footage or surveillance video, to come forward.
