Elizabethtown Man Arrested After Seizure of 17 Pounds of Meth, Multiple Other Drugs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A large-scale drug bust in Hardin County resulted in the arrest of an Elizabethtown man on Friday after authorities reportedly discovered a significant quantity of illegal substances, including crystal meth, cocaine, Oxycodone, and steroids.

According to a news release issued Monday by the Hardin County Drug Enforcement Task Force, investigators executed a search warrant on Bardstown Road just east of Elizabethtown on Friday afternoon. The operation led to the arrest of Marvin Brookins and the seizure of a substantial cache of drugs.

Authorities reported confiscating:

  • 17 pounds of crystal methamphetamine

  • 54 grams of cocaine

  • 16 Oxycodone pills

  • An undisclosed amount of marijuana

  • Anabolic steroids

Brookins is now facing multiple felony charges, including:

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Cocaine)

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Oxycodone)

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine)

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a school

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (Anabolic Steroid)

  • Possession of Marijuana

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Officials with the task force stated that the arrest was part of an ongoing investigation and indicated that additional suspects may be charged in connection with the case.

No further details were immediately released, but the investigation remains active.
