LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman employed at Jewish Hospital was stabbed early Saturday morning after leaving her shift, police reported.
According to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman John Bradley, the incident occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. when the victim, whose identity has not been released, was approached by another woman outside the hospital. The suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Lacy Wilson, allegedly attacked the woman, stabbing her before fleeing the scene.
The victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, managed to return inside the hospital for treatment. Authorities say she was quickly treated for her wounds and is expected to recover.
Police were able to apprehend Wilson shortly after the stabbing, and she was taken into custody without further incident. Court documents indicate that Wilson has been charged with several offenses, including assault, assault of a healthcare provider, fleeing or evading police, and criminal trespassing.
Though the motive for the attack remains unclear, investigators are working to determine any connection between the suspect and the victim. At this time, no details have been released regarding the relationship between the two.
Wilson is currently being held at the Louisville Metro Jail, and additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
Authorities have reassured the public that the situation was quickly brought under control, and no other individuals were injured in the incident.
