Woman Hospitalized with Critical Injuries After Shooting Outside Wingstop in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman is in critical condition following a shooting early Sunday morning outside a Wingstop restaurant in the Auburndale neighborhood. The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. in the 5500 block of New Cut Road, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).

Officers responding to reports of the shooting found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene. Police rendered first aid to the victim until emergency medical services (EMS) arrived. EMS personnel then took over her medical care and transported her to University Hospital, where she was listed in critical, life-threatening condition.

Due to the severity of the injuries, LMPD’s Homicide Unit has assumed control of the investigation. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the woman was an employee or a customer at the Wingstop at the time of the shooting.

Detectives are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting and are exploring potential motives. At this time, police have stated that all parties involved have been accounted for.
