HENDERSON, Ky. — A new partnership between Health First Community Health and KARE Mobile Dentistry is bringing much-needed dental care to residents in several Western Kentucky communities. The collaboration, aimed at addressing the shortage of dentists in the area, will see a mobile dental unit traveling to locations in Henderson, Morganfield, Owensboro, and Providence.
In a statement, Health First Community Health explained that many local dental practices either do not accept new patients or fail to provide care for those on Medicaid. The mobile dental unit seeks to bridge that gap by offering a variety of essential services to underserved individuals.
Dr. Whitney James, a key part of the initiative, will travel to Health First locations regularly to provide services. These services include routine cleanings, x-rays, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, bridges, partials, and dentures, all available regardless of the patient’s insurance type. The unit accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and private pay. Financing options are also available through a third-party credit vendor.
Health First emphasizes the importance of eliminating barriers to healthcare access, noting that mobile units like this one play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of local communities.
To schedule an appointment, residents are encouraged to contact KARE Mobile directly at 270-290-0895. Individuals should select the #1 option for existing patients to be connected to a live representative who can assist with scheduling at a Health First location.
A full schedule of dates and locations for the 2025 mobile dental visits is available upon request.
This initiative promises to make dental care more accessible to residents who may otherwise struggle to find local care, ensuring better oral health for communities in the region.
