Louisville, Ky. — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Louisville’s east end as 19-year-old Davion Charles. The shooting occurred on January 28 in the 8800 block of Malvern Hill Road, near Westport Road, when police responded to reports of an incident around 2:25 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Charles inside a residence with gunshot wounds. He was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
A suspect was initially arrested in connection with the incident on the evening of January 30. However, after further investigation, police determined that the individual would not be charged with murder. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances of the shooting or the identities of others involved in the case.
In a statement, Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Aaron Ellis confirmed that “all parties remain accounted for” as the investigation continues. No further information has been provided at this time.
The case remains under active investigation, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
