9-year-old hero bakes doggy treats to help kids with cancer

LOUISVILLE, KY- A 9-year-old from Kentucky restores faith in humanity when she decides to bake treats for dogs and raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Raelyn Duncan proved that small steps matter, as money from the treats will go towards the St. Jude Radiothon, which focuses on increasing awareness about childhood cancer.

Her “K9 Cookies for Cancer” are made mainly from apple sauce, peanut butter and bananas, pup’s favorite ingredients.

“My mom knew that I loved to bake,” Duncan said. “I love dogs and I love St. Jude. So, she thought that if I made the dog treats, then I could raise money for St. Jude during the St. Jude Radiothon.”

Duncan says when she grows up, she wants to be a pediatrician.
