Woman in Critical Condition After Shooting Near Louisville Restaurant

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A woman is in critical condition following a shooting near a restaurant on New Cut Road early Sunday morning, according to Louisville Metro Police (LMPD).

Police responded to the scene in the 5500 block of New Cut Road, where they found a female victim with a gunshot wound outside the business. The woman was quickly transported to University of Louisville Hospital, where she was reported to be in critical, life-threatening condition.

LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis confirmed that the department’s Homicide Unit is now handling the investigation. However, authorities have not yet determined whether the victim was an employee or a patron of the restaurant.

Details surrounding the shooting remain scarce, and investigators are working to piece together what led up to the incident and what the possible motive might be. At this time, police have stated that all parties involved are accounted for.

The Homicide Unit will continue working closely with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to determine if any charges will be filed as the investigation progresses.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
