Tree Falls on Car in Louisville, Driver Rescued and Taken to Hospital

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A dramatic rescue took place Wednesday afternoon after a large tree fell onto a car, trapping the driver inside, near the intersection of Palatka Road and Manslick Road, just outside Iroquois Park.

The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. when the tree collapsed onto the vehicle, pinning the driver. Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) spokesperson Dwight Mitchell confirmed that emergency responders worked swiftly to extricate the driver from the wreckage.

The driver, who was not immediately identified, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, authorities reported that the victim’s condition was stable following the rescue.

In the aftermath of the incident, Louisville Metro Public Works personnel were called to the scene to remove the fallen tree, which had obstructed traffic in the area. The road was temporarily blocked, causing delays for drivers.

While the exact cause of the tree’s fall has not been determined, officials urge motorists to remain cautious, especially as severe weather conditions may increase the risk of similar accidents.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are working to clear the area to restore normal traffic flow.
