LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A teenage girl is recovering in the hospital after being shot in Valley Station on Monday evening.
Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) responded to the 5400 block of Eight Bells Lane around 7:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting near Elzie Road and Dixie Highway. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 13-year-old girl who had been shot in the leg.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis confirmed that officers provided immediate aid until emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene. The injured teen was transported to the University of Louisville (UofL) Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The LMPD’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit has launched an investigation into the incident, though no suspects have been identified as of yet.
