LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that took place in the Algonquin neighborhood on October 15, 2024.
The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) responded to the scene at approximately 5:23 p.m. in the 1600 block of Brashear Drive, near West Hill Street. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the stomach, back, legs, and arms. According to LMPD Sgt. Matt Sanders, the victim was alert and conscious when he was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Early on Saturday morning, LMPD announced the arrest of 45-year-old Haneef Kaleem, who also goes by the name Kalvin Irvin. Kaleem was taken into custody in connection to the shooting and has been charged with assault, wanton endangerment, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Authorities have not released additional details about the motive behind the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing. The condition of the victim has not been disclosed, but he was reported to be in stable condition at the time of transport to the hospital.
Kaleem remains in police custody, with further proceedings expected in the coming days.
