Louisville Police Seek Driver in Hit-and-Run on Dixie Highway

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident that occurred Thursday morning in the city’s California neighborhood. Authorities say a man riding a scooter was struck by a Chevy Malibu while traveling southbound on Dixie Highway, and the driver fled the scene.

The collision occurred just after 8 a.m. on the 1100 block of Dixie Highway, near Grand Avenue and St. Catherine Street, not far from California Park. According to Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson John Bradley, officers arrived at the scene to find the victim conscious and alert, though injured. Witnesses reported that the driver of the Chevy Malibu did not stop after the crash, continuing south on Dixie Highway.

Witnesses also provided crucial information to investigators, noting that the vehicle involved in the incident had visible damage to its windshield. Despite the injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening, the victim was transported by EMS to the University of Louisville Hospital for further treatment.

The LMPD’s Second Division is leading the investigation into the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the driver or the vehicle to come forward to assist with the case.

This incident marks the latest in a series of hit-and-run accidents in the area, with police urging the public to remain vigilant and report any information that may help locate the responsible individual.
