LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A 19-year-old man is dead after a collision involving a dirt bike and a vehicle late Friday evening in South Louisville. The crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Taylor Boulevard and West Ashland Avenue.
According to Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) spokesman John Bradley, the young man was riding a non-street legal dirt bike when the crash occurred. The rider was immediately transported to the University of Louisville Hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Seth Jones, a 19-year-old resident of Louisville.
Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene and was not injured. At this time, investigators have not determined the exact cause of the crash, and further details are yet to be released.
In an unusual turn of events, another crash occurred nearby while officers were on the scene managing the original accident. The second crash involved two vehicles but, fortunately, resulted in no injuries.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
